What does CT 40, 35, 30, etc mean? Cycle threshold, it’s the sensitivity of the test. At 40, if after 40 cycles they can’t detect COVID, they stop the test and mark it negative Below 40 means you have it in your system. But they can’t know if it’s a new infection or just the remaining of previous. They have to isolate you and out you in quarantine if they don’t know and can validate your medical history If you tests 39, for example, you could go down to 25 or less in the next few days If you are below 30 you are very contagious And below 25 you are very sick Home rapid tests only detect 25 or 30 and under. But if you don’t have history of having tested positive in China, they will use 40 for your first test You have to be 30 and over to be ok, below 30 is still treated as contagious. #Going to China (Pandemic Travel) #China Covid Curated
